Every culture is carefully wrapped in clean paper, individually labeled with ID, and neatly packaged before arrival. If temperatures are considered low, we'll add non-toxic 40-72 hour heat packs to ensure safe arrival at no extra charge. All perishable shipments are scheduled to avoid weekend delays, which helps us ensure the best chances for a healthy live arrival. We're fairly confident that our live arrival rate is the highest in the industry. :-)

Please check our Live Arrival Guarantee before you order, since some locations may require the selection of Express Shipping to qualify if temperatures are especially cold.

When We Ship Our Feeders & Microfauna:
In most cases, we're able to ship orders containing microfauna and/or feeder insects (along with any supplies) the same or next business day. That being said, we're forced to schedule all perishable shipments to avoid the (2-3 day long) weekend delay, which greatly increases the chances of healthy live arrival. If we can't ship your order to ensure it'll arrive to you before being impacted by the weekend delay, it will most likely not ship until the following Monday. A Note To Clients In Distant States:
Our business is only about 25 minutes away from the shore in Connecticut, so we're about as "East Coast" as it gets. If you live in the Pacific or Mountain time zones and select standard shipping (default), packages from us will likely be in transit for 4-5 days. With that in mind, clients who live in distant states that select standard shipping are likely to have all perishable orders ship the following Monday, since Monday is the only day we can safely ship while avoiding a weekend delay. (Monday + 5 transit days = Saturday arrival) If you are in a rush, we recommend selecting Express Shipping during checkout, since we'll be able to ship to you as late as Thursday while avoiding the weekend delay. On a related note, if temperatures are over 85° or under 45°, Express Shipping is also the only method covered by our awesome live arrival guarantee! We wish there was something more we could do to speed things up while keeping things safe, but we're dealing with a geographical problem the best way we can.

This Premium Mixture is fortified with Minerals, Trace Elements, Vitamins, and Carotenoids in order to maximize the nutritional value of Fruit Flies when they are used as Feeders.

Manufacturer Instructions
To make a typical culture (32 oz. size deli container) add between 3 tablespoons (typical when using boiling water) and 4 tablespoons (typical when using hot tap water) SuperFly medium to 2/3 cup prepared water and stir until blended. Finished mixture should be thin enough to flatten out when container is tapped on table. Add water or medium to adjust consistency if necessary. Let cool before adding flies. Add flies and keep at approx 75F. Culture should begin to produce larvae in 5 - 15 days and flies in 10 - 30 days depending on temperature and species.

Provent-A-Mite is a professional grade product. This is a long-lasting surface miticide, and should never be applied directly to any animals. This product is effective for 30 days after spraying a surface, making it a top-choice for keeping fruit fly & microfauna culture surfaces totally mite-free. Please be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for safety, which are printed directly on the label.

Provent-a-mite is the only patented, EPA & USDA approved product specifically labeled for use with all reptiles that has undergone more than 25 years of research, clinical testing and use to insure that it will effectively eradicate mites and ticks that feed on your reptiles. Provent-a-mite is more effective and less expensive to use than other products to eradicate or prevent an infestation, with up to 4 times less required per treatment and is the only product proven to provide long term residual protection. Unlike all other products that stop working when or soon after they dry, Provent-a-Mite will bond to any treated surface and remain effective for up to 30 days or longer, continuously killing any potentially disease carrying mites or ticks. Once dry, Provent-a-Mite will not wash off and can be misted, wiped or washed without eliminating the effectiveness.

Simply treat substrate, racks, enclosure openings, etc. once a month as directed to kill any potentially disease carrying mites or ticks before they can infect your reptiles. The product is made from the dried cells of a fungus called Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which is a natural byproduct of brewing tasty beverages. (Thus the name!) Brewer's Yeast contains beneficial goodies like B-vitamins, chromium, iron, magnesium, potassium, protein, selenium, zinc, and more. It is very unlikely your perishables will survive if shipped using standard service in these temperatures, and we don't recommend it! You can choose to take that risk by selecting Standard shipping during checkout (the default option), but we won't be able to replace or refund any items if they arrive damaged. If you are ordering a bunch of heavier supplies and perishables, it's often cheaper to place two separate orders so that the supplies can cheaply ship ground while the smaller perishable box ships express. Sorry, but we do not offer "hold for safe window" service when standard shipping is selected in temperatures this extreme.
