Tillandsia Tectorum

SOLD OUT

A fuzzy white tillandsia - does best when mounted towards the top of a vivarium in slightly drier conditions with a little air movement - truly a unique little air plant!

Tillandsia Brachycaulos
$5.00

High/Medium Light - High Humidity - one of our larger tillandsias - can turn anywhere from bright red to a deep maroon in good lighting. Stunning once it changes colors. Flowers pink & purple - although to be honest we haven't seen one flower that wasn't in direct sunlight as of yet. Usually air plants like to dry off a bit between watering - but from our experience - Brachycaulos seems to like it a bit more humid than the other air plants we sell - it begins to "curl" if left un-misted for more than 36 hours or so.

Tillandsia Bulbosa
$2.75

High/Medium Light - High/Medium Humidity - Flowers bright red - A very cool little air plant.

Tillandsia Caput-Medusae
2.79

Awesome perfect looking specimens in stock.  These are similar to Bulbosa - but larger.

Ionantha Fuego
5.95/ea

High/Medium Light - High/Medium Humidity - one of the most popular tillandsias for vivariums - almost the entire plant will turn bright red in good lighting. Flowers purple & yellow.  The bright red color comes out best in brighter, more humid conditions!  Above pictured on left is an average colored specimen.

Ionantha X Stricta
$3.95

An awesome little hybrid from our higher quality grower.  Turns bright red in good lighting.  Pictured on the right is a ionantha x stricta grown closely under 6500K CFL lighting - while the other example of the same species was grown under dimmer T12 lighting.  Lighting really makes the difference with this species - but when done correctly it's really stunning!

Ionantha Mexican
$1.25

High/Medium Light - High/Medium Humidity - Flowers easier than most other tillandsias - flowers purple and yellow.
The purple blush color will come out in brighter, more humid conditions!

Tillandsia Myosura
$1.35

High/Medium Light - High/Medium Humidity - Tough to see in the picture - but it's fairly flat.  It looks similar to a squished flat bulbosa.  Very, very different little air plant.  Pups semi-frequently.
