Exo Terra Riverbed Sand

An aquatic sand that's great for paludariums & water features

Exo Terra Riverbed Sand
Riverbed Sand is ideal for many types of aquatic turtles as it is their preferred substrate in the wild. Soft-shell turtles especially prefer the find sand for digging and burrowing. Other types of water and ground-dwelling reptiles, such as frogs and salamanders, will also benefit from Riverbed Sand because of its soft nature. A rough surface, such as gravel, can easily injure skin tissue. Riverbed Sand is very fine and can be easily secreted when ingested, unlike gravel or pebbles which can cause indigestion. Created over time in an African river, Riverbed Sand is extremely fine and round, making it an ideal and safe substrate for the aqua-terrarium.

Fluval Plant Stratum

A substrate for aquatic plants; great for paludariums & water features

Fluval Plant Stratum
Fluval Plant Stratum is the ideal substrate for stimulating the growth of aquatic plants in freshwater environments. The substrate's light, non-compacting, porous structure is highly beneficial to nitrifying bacteria, which rapidly colonize the vast porous surface, providing optimal water quality for plants. Plant roots easily penetrate and spread throughout the substrate, allowing plants to obtain a variety of key nutrients that will make them flourish. Fluval Plant Stratum's inherent properties will help support a neutral to slightly acidic pH, ideal for most plant species and species of tropical fish normally kept in planted aquariums. This highly attractive substrate will not discolor water and helps control organic discoloration usually present when natural driftwood is used. 2 kg (4.4 lbs)

NEHERP Note
An excellent substrate choice for water features, paludariums, and aquariums. Can be mixed with gravel, stones, and/or riverbed sand for different, natural looking aquatic substrates.
