Phalaenopsis Orchid

A beautiful, easy to maintain, epiphytic orchid.
Ideal temps for a phalaenopsis are 60-80F with a minimum humidity of 50%. Plant
in an area with very good drainage - or even bare root on a background if it's
misted often. These orchids grow on tree trunks in the wild - usually not in the
dirt. A phalaenopsis can be planted in the substrate if a few tricks are used...
Add a section of orchid bark or hydroton in the substrate layer allowing for
water to pass thru easily to the drainage layer. That way the orchid's roots
aren't constantly wet which will fight rotting. Epiphytic orchids NEED this type
of drainage to survive. If planted in straight moist coco fiber - chances are it
won't survive.
These are shipped bare root to save costs on shipping - and we generally try to
ship while the flowers are not blooming. This way you can enjoy the
bloom for as long as possible - AND it ensures the flower won't be damaged
during shipping.SOLD OUT
