Fluker's Sunglow UVB Bulbs
Under natural conditions, the sun produces
ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation. UVB radiation is needed to produce
vitamin D. In captivity, reptiles that have poor lighting conditions
can develop life-threatening diseases. Sun Glow fluorescent bulbs
provide essential ultraviolet B radiation for captive reptiles and
amphibians.
Fluker's Bulbs generate more UVB (> 250 watts/cm) than competitor's
5.0 fluorescent tubes (> 250 watts/cm)!
We suggest 5.0 output for jungle/forest dwelling herps and 10.0
output for animals that reside in desert/arid conditions!
Exo Terra UVB Bulbs
Exo Terra Repti Glo 5.0
The Exo Terra Repti Glo 5.0 has a moderate to high UVB output,
similar to that of shady environments such as rain forests and other
tropical locations. Reptiles living in these habitats receive less
UV radiation because of the many climatological conditions (fairly
high humidity, changes in weather, etc) that prevent direct sunlight
from reaching them or their basking sites.
Exo Terra Repti Glo 10.0:
The Exo Terra Repti Glo 10.0 Compact Desert Terrarium Lamp has a
very high UVB output similar to that associated with desert
environments. Desert locations receive more direct sunlight than any
otherbecause of fewer clouds, less air humidity and no plants or
trees to provide shade. Therefore desert reptiles are more exposed
to UV radiation than any other type of reptile.
Exo Terra Solar Glo:
The Exo Terra Solar Glo is a lamp that is designed to simulate
natural sunlight, emitting optimal levels of UV rays, visual light
and infrared heat. The especially high amounts of UVA and UVB rays
are among the many beneficial aspects of this new generation
herpetoculture lamp. The Exo Terra Solar Glo is especially suited
for larger terrariums where reptiles can regulate their exposure. It
is also recommended when very high UVB intensity is required, such
as breeding programs and for reptiles recovering from metabolic bone
disease.
Generic 5500K Compact Fluorescent Bulbs
Perfect for growing plants and super inexpensive. These can be
used in just about any fixture and don't get nearly as hot as
incandescent bulbs. We use these on a few of our vivariums at
the store and in our breeding facility. Depending on brand,
1000-1300 Lumen output.
